I THINK you need to halve the number of games played in both leagues, but it obviously doesn't change that Div 2 has a higher ratio.

We've reflected on this for a while before posting a result to the challenge.
Strictly speaking, we can proceed on the basis that we made no provision for games being postponed, that postponements are beyond our control, and that there is a clear result to the challenge. The competition rules do provide us with the capacity to amend the rules to ensure the effective operation of the game, but the question is whether or not it would be fair to do so.
Our options are to proceed to the next elimination round or to replay this round.
If we replay, we'll face disagreement from some members because we didn't make provision for postponements and we're now making them replay the round. If we proceed, we'll face disagreement from some members who will feel hard done by because the postponements meant that before a ball was kicked they were pretty much guaranteed to be wrong.
However, the outcomes are not quite the same. If we replay this round the members who would have qualified will still be in the competition, and all that will happen is that they'll have to play one more round in their quest to win the prize - and of course only one person can win the prize at the end in any event. But if we proceed. the members who would have been knocked out will be out of the competition with no possibility of another attempt or at any form of redress.
On that basis, while it is technically correct to simply proceed to the next round, it is fairer in the circumstances to replay, because it gives the apparent losers a second chance without depriving the apparent winners of their shot at the prize.
Accordingly, it has been decided that the second elimination round will be replayed. The challenge will be posted on Tuesday evening.

I took into consideration the weather forecast in various areas in Scotland before deciding maroon.
On this basis I feel I should be put through to the next round. It's only fair.

Second elimination round challenge - replay
This challenge is only open to the 53 players who qualified from the first elimination round.
Here is a list of selected games scheduled to be played in the SFL Divisions 2 and 3 this coming weekend:
Division 2
Albion v Stenhousemuir
Dumbarton v Cowdenbeath
East Fife v Brechin
Stirling v Forfar
Division 3
Berwick v Peterhead
Elgin v Clyde
Montrose v Annan Athletic
Queen's Park v Alloa
Here's the challenge:
Maroon: There will be more goals scored in the Division 3 games than in the Division 2 games.
White: There will NOT be more goals scored in the Division 3 games than in the Division 2 games.
Notes:
Only 4 games are listed from each division.
Goals scored in abandoned games will count.
In the event of any postponements, the average goals scored per game will be used rather than the total number of goals to determine the winner.
If all of the Division 2 games or all of the Division 3 games are postponed, the round will be replayed.
Choose Maroon or White and post on this thread. The deadline for entries is Friday, 3 February at 9 pm UK time.
